To make a change from the increasingly boring subject of my health, instead I present some pictures!

Firstly, our own glowing ceiling cat! In other words, Snowy in the light of our SAD lamp;this one is definitely going to be cropped and used as an icon!


We've recently started putting up a bird feeder again and also putting bread out, so we're getting a nice variety of bird-life right near the back door.

For example, chaffinches:


Dunnocks (or 'Hedge Sparrows' - which aren't actually a sparrow!):


And a bit of an odd one:

I can't find anything that quite matches. It may be a female greenfinch - that' certainly the nearest thing I can find. As AKICILJ, any thoughts anyone?

No expert on UK birds, of course, but it does have a very finchy beak. Lookit the size of it!

We've found some more photos on google images and actually it looks like it's a female house sparrow.

It's very diddy though...

It's a female House Sparrow. The rarest of the three birds pictured, though they do seem to be picking up in numbers again, at least down my way.
