So the last two days I've been on a leadership course. This is with a company called MaST (sic) who we have used before.

It's probably the least useful of the 'consultancy skills' courses I've done over the last couple of years: lots of not-terribly-relevant (but frequently fun) exercises and some tools of varying uses.

The problem I have with so many of these courses is that the tools they give you are predicated on other people reacting to them in the proscribed manner. Who was it that said 'No plan survives first contact with the enemy' or words to that effect?

Also, oftentimes I notice that the people leading these courses play the game of 'guess what's in teacher's head' too often. You know the one - they ask you a question and if you give an answer that is different from the one they want, even if it is equally valid, it is treated as the wrong answer.

Anyway, I am slightly hung-over from the usual first night meal and drinks and had (for me) a very late night so I'm off to bed very soon!
