Sometimes I think we live in the most polite town in England. This morning we went for a run before breakfast and passed several people, all of whom gave a cheery 'good morning'. I mean what sort of place is that polite to people running?!

Mind you, just to make up for it we also had the Sunday Visit of the Gas Salesman: the guy who was trying to get us to change our electicity supply by scaring us about upcoming fuel prices and what a hard winter is being predicted. He lost interest when I asked if he had any literature he could leave us because I was not going to say 'yes' or 'no' right there on the doorstep.

Yes, I had that once, a gas salesman trying to get me to sign up for something on the spot. I found that highly dubious.
