Sometimes accidents can be amusing...

Driving up the A34 towards the M4 junction yesterday morning I got diverted off the road through Newbury because the A34 was closed ahead due to an accident.

According to the radio traffic report a lorry had overturned which was full of - wait for it - cream cakes! The police were still clearing the road, apparently. Anyone else get a mental picture of a group of coppers sitting in the middle of the road eating their way through a lorry load of cream cakes (and possibly throwing them at each other)?

In the US, of course, it would have had to have been doughnuts.

I came across a report recently of a truck containing catfood that overturned outside ... wait for it ... a cat sanctuary. And the company did donate the tins to the sanctuary. I have visions of beleaguered animal refuges all over the country setting lorry traps.
