It's been one of those weeks this week. The draft design for my current project was up for review (as far as it goes - still not quite complete), plus the AMOS Concert. This week has pretty much been 'wake up, have breakfast, go to work, come home, have tea, go to rehearsal/performance, go to bed.'

Anyway, the good news is both items seem to have gone quite well. The internal QA of my document was relatively painless (content fine, structure needs some work which was pretty much what I expected).

The concert has gone really well so far, with one more night to go. The only downside is that last night the cut on the inside of my throat opened up again. I'm guessing that this is because I've been singing a lot as well as running half-day workshops, etc, but it's a bit worrying/annoying nevertheless. Anyway, it certainly isn't healing properly so back to the doctors' (it may even be that something is still stuck).

And, naturally, the first night for a week I can have a lie-in I don't sleep very well. Sigh.

That sentence just makes me shudder, even tho' I know the cut isn't a huge huge deal (tho' definitely something to check out w/the doctor, like you said). Eeek! I hope you're not in pain.

It is a bit sore, but not too bad as long as I don't cough!

My doctor did say that if it didn't heal up then I would probably have to see an ENT specialist. Can't see that happening before the US trip somehow...

Is that b/c of a busy schedule on your end or the vagaries of trying to schedule this in a socialized medicine system? Totally not being snarky--heaven knows I wish we had socialized medicine--I just read a comment from a friend of mine in Finland explaining the differences in what would happen if she took her daughter to a public vs. private doctor after she took a spill during day care.

I'm sorry that you might have to come to NYC w/a creepy throat injury tho'!!

More that there is only 2 weeks until we fly out now and it's not likely that I'm likely to get an appointment before then (even via my work private health insurance.) We'll see...

Aw, that sucks. Here's hoping for a cancellation or other miracle to get you in.

(& also--two weeks? Holy crap, that just made me realize that of course it's only two weeks until we do the transatlantic flight in the opposite direction!)

Just to say, I am totally with [livejournal.com profile] littlebutfierce on this. However unfierce it makes us both sound, all this shuddering and going "eeek!"

Seriously! Chris could take over the world: cower before my cut-up throat!

I would surrender in an instant. ;)

I think this is probably a Great Truth, that people with terrible injuries could actually rule the world, just because the rest of us are so squeamish.

Or is it just Chris...?

Believe me when I tell you that I am extremely squeamish actually!

But there's no sense in getting stressed about something that I can't do a lot about (and I don't say that very often!)

Doesn't matter if you're squeamish - you're the one flourishing the open wound...

But there's no sense in getting stressed about something that I can't do a lot about (and I don't say that very often!)

...But almost all of us spend almost all our time getting stressed about stuff we can't do anything about... (You see, we need you to lead us to wiser ground! This is what we're saying, O great wounded leader...!)
