I ain't'nt dead
Nov. 7th, 2005 08:14 amI seem to be getting into the habit recently of apologising for not posting much when I post!
But it was a busy week last week: Monday, setting up our Broadband connection (yes, we have now entered the 21st century!), Tuesday & Thursday: rehearsals, out to Oxford for the SF group meet on Wednesday and a drama/tap workshop yesterday. What was left of the week (it was, of course, also a very busy week at the office) was spent reading or slumped in front of the television.
Brains not being very engaged we spent most of the week re-watching Fruits Basket. Again we laughed, we cried, we compared the anime to the manga...
Getting back to some tap dancing has been fun. On Thursday we practiced basic steps (taps, shuffles, riffs, tap springs, tap step ball change, etc) which was really useful given that we hadn't done any tap for two and a half years. Yesterday we were split into two groups, basic and intermediate. We decided to go for intermediate, which was a bit of a stretch but we did okay in the end, once we'd remembered how to do time steps - two different types in this case (a shuffle time step and a pick-up time step). It's amazingly tiring, particularly on the calf muscles, ankles and knees.
Hopefully I might be able to do my impression of a normal human being this week!
