You can always rely on BBC science reporting to give some unintenional laughs. From the web site article about the dangers of taking extra vitamins:

After various factors were taken into account and a further 20 studies excluded, the researchers linked vitamin A supplements to a 16% increased risk of dying, beta-carotene to a 7% increased risk and vitamin E to a 4% increased risk. 

So vitamin A supplements increase your risk of dying to 116% then...?

My favourite (source long since lost) was "50% of smokers die."

Hell, thems good odds. I think I'll start smoking.
