Okay, I've been meaning to start doing this for a couple of weeks, but kept remembering a day later!

What are you reading now?
Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway. Reading this, I can't help but be reminded of Neal Stephenson - but a bit more focussed. Overall enjoying it, but I do wish the individual chapters were not so terribly terribly long - makes it difficult to plan breaks! Also, I know why it's an easy options, but I would like some of this sorts of things to be set somewhere other than London all the time...

What did you just finish?
Quantum Coin by E. C. Myers of this parish. Follow up to the excellent Fair Coin. Maybe not quite as good as the earlier book - it doesn't have the same element of discovery - but still a very enjoyable (and sometimes tough-minded) read.

What books have you acquired this week?
None! Trying not to buy any for a little while. I've got a Waterstones token to use - and I've already got some plans for it - but it will have to lie fallow for a while...

I have to admit that while I enjoyed Angelmaker, I enjoyed Harkaway's previous novel, "The Gone-Away World," much, much more. That was a book where I felt like jumping around the room from joy on several occasions while reading it. (Not so much the happy-things-happened-in-the-book joy, but the drunk-off-this-prose joy.)
