What Are You Reading Wednesday

The Horns of Ruin - Tim Akers. A political mystery in a world that is blend of steampunk and magic. A bit of a disappointment this, so far. I enjoyed Akers' Veridon books (especially the first), but this is leaving me a bit cold. I like the setting and I'm intrigued by the central mystery, but the lead character is a problem for me. She is one of those characters who is so sure of their own importance and 'rightness' that they feel it is acceptable to bully everyone around them. Some people maybe like this sort of lunatic self-confident character, but I find them really annoying. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised by the end of the book!
What did you just finish?
A Blink of the Screen - Terry Pratchett. The collected short stories of Pratchett. An enjoyable collection (though the best were mainly those I was already familiar with), but I'm always been a Pratchett fan. I'm not sure that it would do much for the casual reader.
