I thought it was time to introduce you to the [livejournal.com profile] bookzombie menagerie .

Willow
Willow. Quiet, good-natured animal. 9 years old. Likes drinking from running water in the bathroom tap!

Josie
Josie. About 8 years old. Loves us, usually likes visitors. Hates the other cats like poison. Can out-waif Tiny Tim.

Snowy
Snowy. 3.5 years old. Bob's auntie. Our BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) cat. She is the one who most likes sitting on our laps and making a fuss - so white hair everywhere!

Bob
Bob. 2 years old. Still got that gangly teenager look sometimes. Sometimes likes our company, but other times ignores us for days on end. Tries to be friends with all the other cats - doesn't succeed with Josie!

Aw! I love black and white kitties; they're so cute. How do the females get along (except for Josie hating everybody)? Of my three, two are male, and I actually chose a male when I got Legba because it seemed from my experience that neutered males got along the best.

Bob sounds a lot like Legba (although he usually doesn't ignore me--he's more likely to start wandering around yowling if he thinks I'm ignoring HIM)--and Pandora, like Josie, rejects all overtures and sometimes just smacks him in head, hissing, for no reason, although she gets along with Bart.

Bob's tendency to ignore us varies greatly. Since we came back from the 'States he has been more friendly. I suspect that this has something to do with the fact that Penny's parents were housesitting and they probably don't feel the need to fuss the cats as much as we do!

Willow and Snowy pretty much ignore each other most of the time - just the occasional side swipe if one of the them is in a bad mood.

The other cats pretty often only have to be in the same room as Josie for her to hiss at them. Of course because she treats them like that, they treat her the same (chasing her around the house is good sport, it seems). Poor Josie would be happiest in a house with no other cats but that's tough luck.

Benji, our elderly tabby who died at the beginning of the year (a sad story for another time) seemed to be fairly tolerant of Bob - and Bob certainly liked his Uncle Benji...
