The gentle fall of rain on grass
Jun. 20th, 2005 04:09 pmIt's that time of year again, when many British watch the weather more carefully than any other time.
Yes, it's the first day of Wimbledon, the one time of year that P. & I pretend to know anything about sport. By the end of the first evenings play we will be commentating on this fine volley and that fine return with the knowledge and wit of a McEnroe or a Lloyd (but not where anyone who really knows what they are talking about can hear us!).
Forming an important part of the entertainment will be the Tim Henman roadshow, so that will be...frustrating. Poor Tim, not even the bridesmaid, but the bridesmaid's second.

Date: 2005-06-21 07:17 am (UTC)Sadly, the last time someone I know did manage to get tickets like this, they ended up going the one day when there was not a single minute of play.
Mind you, I suspect that it is much easier as long as you don't want Centre Court or Court 1 tickets.
(I also did the other traditional part of watching the tennis last night - gently drifting off to sleep in front of a match...)
