Disappointment

bookzombieGot home after work yesterday to a phone message from the people who we were going to Japan with to say that they have had to cancel the trip because not enough people have booked to go.
So we're going to try and rebook the trip for next year and in the meantime find somewhere else to go in November.
But, bugger.

Date: 2006-09-20 03:17 pm (UTC)I've got my worldcon membership already, and I'm sure there will be a bunch going cheap from all those people that thought it was a great idea to have a Japanese worldcon and now realise how expensive it's going to be and will be willing to sell on the membership at a very reasonable rate.
You could even try sorting out something like car hire etc. with some other fans for travelling around afterwards (actually you probably *don't* want to do car hire, but travelling companions can be fun!)
