Earlier this morning I was reading an interview with Bruce Sterling in a 1994 Interzone magazine in which he talks about being glad to be in Manchester because it is where his favourite band 'The Fall' comes from.

Bearing in mind that The Fall are not particularly familiar to me (roughly translated: I've never heard of them!), I then look at the Entertainment page of the BBC's web site where it has a link to an article headed 'Read and listen to fiction inspired by cult rock band The Fall.'

So what are the odds of that?!

Mark E Smith was among those interviewed by the chap from Asian Dub Foundation for the PKD item on the Toady programme. Supposedly The Fall was the only band PKD listened to. Which is what he would say, of course.

Lard, as in Mark Radcliffe and Lard, has been a drummer for them.
