Blow the man down, bullies
Feb. 12th, 2007 08:51 pmIn the early hours of Sunday morning, around 4:30am, I was woken by the loudest bang I have ever heard. For a few seconds I lay there with pounding heart and I admit that my first thought was 'something's exploded!' (possibly the Aldermaston nuclear weapons research facility about 10 miles away...).
A few minutes later the rain came down in torrents, so I can only assume that it was actually thunder, just really, really loud. I did check on the local news in case a tanker had exploded somewhere nearby, or something, but there was nothing.
Still, not the best way to start Sunday...
