In which I have a smashing time
Aug. 19th, 2008 12:54 pmYesterday was our wedding anniversary (18 years!) and we went out to the local indian restaurant for a meal.
They had recently had the door repainted and it was stuck in a semi-closed position.
I pushed it. It wouldn't open.
I pushed it again. It stayed stubbornly stuck.
I put a bit of shoulder action into the push. Door opened, accompanied by the tinkle of glass as I smashed the glass in the upper part of the door.
Oh. Dear.
Luckily (maybe because we are regulars) the staff took it all very well and just took to teasing me about it all evening, rather than charging me for the repairs!
(
pennskibought me a very nice bottle of 18 year old Talisker as a present. Now that is a fine whiskey...)
